There's a strong feeling that I could learn more about die and card games from this - and that entices me, quite a bit.

For many of the several rounds I played, I didn't know what I was doing, but when I figured out some basics I could see where things were going.

What round did you get to before quitting?

I got to Round 3, on multiple playthroughs, only stopped to write this comment/review

What was your strategy, if any?

Pretty much spent most time seeing what did what but I did start making sure I spend coins on cards as I could. Just using the first round to roll and collect coins seemed to help later on.

But, overall, I'm new to die and cards played in these ways so really, my main strategy was to learn how they are used

What did you most like?

The simple basic approach was really quite nice, I liked the way I could very quickly start a new game and see if I've gotten better at the game. Also, this is a great game to show how much fun can be had without fancy graphics

What was frustrating?

The game feels too early to have much that's frustrating, but I did find a lack of win/fail state outcome wasn't quite clear (until I got a bit better and could understand the game better)

What did you wish you could do?

Understand the game better, so maybe it's just a matter of a tutorial or tips/hints in the early stages of gameplay

Yeah it think is a bit early to get feel of the gameplay or mechanics, Im not sure what the first 2 dice options mean or why they are the same (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), is it 1 dice with 6 faces? Or 1 dice with 1 face + 1 dice with 2 faces +1 dice with 3 faces.... The most common representation on dices in games tend to be 1d6 or 1d1 + 1d2 + 1d3, so starting with clearer visuals could go a long way. But congrats on the progress so far this could definitely evolve into an interesting game. Keep it going.

Wow, that sure is an ugly prototype! :-)

No, seriously though, very cool to prototype the game to get a sense of its gameplay first. I think it's a neat concept: on the first round I was like "uhh...so I roll dice?", but by the second I was considering the dice and the cards and thinking "this isn't trivial, is it".

I ended up six coins short on the fifth round, which isn't a bad showing, all things considered.  I did feel a certain lack of control; the rule "larger divided by smaller" felt particularly hard to manage, since even with a d20 (do they go larger?) and a d6 (do they go smaller?), the expected payoff is pretty small.  (4.5ish, depending on how you round, with better than a 50% chance of getting three coins or less.)

But it's intriguing!  I'd love to see where it goes.

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! In theory there is a d4, but you have to draw the card that lets you change one of the dice to a d4, and I haven't gotten around to the game simulating a deck, so the cards you draw are completely random, unfortunately. The lack of control is something I've heard from a few folks and will definitely need to think about, even if a little RNG is intended. I plan to keep working on this, hopefully less ugly next time haha.
